Thanks to this book: "De Hondentherapeut" by Inge Pauwels, I think I know what I did wrong and how to do it right. So, I took Miyu for a walk yesterday. Problem: she pulls on the leash so hard I hate walking her.
So, yesterday, I let her out of her crate and oh miracle - I could put her collar and leash on her without a big sumo fight. Oh miracle II - she did not rip my arm off when we walked down the street. Miracle III - when I saw a woman exiting the butcher's, I stopped to call Miyu back before she inspects that woman's purchases, but before I could call her, Miyu already came back to me! That's the first time! During the entire walk, she was like that. She kept an eye on where I was going and followed and immediately came when I stopped or called her.
Why? Well, one reason may be my enthousiasm leaping over to her. The book gave me a lot of hope, so I was in a very good and relaxed mood when I took Miyu for the walk. Secondly, I kept giving her snacks for good behaviour, something I didn't do before because, well, she's fat. Hell it works great.
But Toya's doing great, too! I feel like I have total control over him, even when he's unleashed. Although, yesterday night a truck almost ran him over
That bastard! I got no driver's license but I KNOW FOR SURE you have to flash before turning!!!!! So I thought he was going straight, but no, he suddenly made a very sharp turn towards my poor dog! Man....
